All Day

New Girl Talk album is good for all day work mode

Phoenix at the Bowl.

Juliette and I went to see Phoenix at the Hollywood Bowl and they did not disappoint. Definitely the best concert I have been to in a long long time. Grizzly Bear opened for them and sang a magical Two Week with Feist.

4.9.10

Arcade Fire Live.

You can watch the amazing live concert from Madison Square Garden

8.8.10

The Suburbs.

My favorite song off this album is Sprawl II.

14.1.10

Contra.

Vampire Weekend finally released their new CD Contra this past Tuesday. I have been listening to them since their Mansard Roof EP days when their lighthearted bops softened up my cold dark days in Boston. It seems with this album they have finally hit the mainstream. Where as my sister describes them as being just a little too precious, I still find myself enjoying their preppy cute music and the images evoked of boat shoes, plaids and dapper bowties. My favorite song from Contra is Run.

Psychic Chasms.

This new cd by Neon Indian is perfect winter break music.

Palmitos Park.

Love this song. Love the video even more.

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

I cannot wait for the new Phoenix CD that comes out May 25. I have already heard most of the songs and they are fantastic!

M. Ward

I was first introduced to the amazing M. Ward through his collaborative project with Zooey Deschanel, She And Him. I have been listening to a lot of his music lately and I just adore it. His new CD, Hold Time, comes out February 17.

Little Joy.

I am loving the music of Little Joy right now, pet project of Fabrizio Moretti. This song is lovely.

Old Joy.

I never actually saw the movie Old Joy but I was obsessed with watching the trailer because of the music. Yo La Tengo wrote it for the film but you could never actually buy it -- that is until now. I am so happy they finally put the soundtrack on CD. It has a rustic sort of folksy feel but there is something so serene and beautiful about it as well. I think I have those connotations partially because that is the feel of the trailer. I still really want to see the film.

My favorite track: Leaving Home

King Tut.

Steve Martin's King Tut song from his SNL Days never fails to make me laugh and is surprisingly catchy.

Santogold

I am loving her album right now and the song she does with Julian Casablancas and N.E.R.D., My Drive Thru, is fantastic.
