Phoenix at the Bowl.
Juliette and I went to see Phoenix at the Hollywood Bowl and they did not disappoint. Definitely the best concert I have been to in a long long time. Grizzly Bear opened for them and sang a magical Two Week with Feist.
Nostalgia.
I went to look for a pencil and I discovered a papermate lead one in the kitchen. I used to always buy a fresh pack of them for school each year. I was quickly reminded of how excited I used to get when I got to purchase new school supplies as nothing gives promise to a new grade like a crisp new composition book or an unused eraser.

Architecture + Beauty.
Tonight Erin and I went to a lecture at Sci-Arc that featured an all-star panel with Frank Gehry, Thom Mayne, Hernan Diaz Alonso, Greg Lynn, Sir Peter Cook, and Eric Owen Moss. Today my teacher was explaining that graphic designers are too incestuous and only look to each other for inspiration when they really should be looking to other fields for influence whether it be scientific, anthropological etc. I love going to lectures on all areas as some of the best design comes from unapparent sources.

We went to Long Beach today to do some mid century furniture prowling and ended up having lunch at Number Nine, a vietnamese restaurant with an awesome interior.
