So close.

I have a lot of anxiety about the upcoming election. My greatest desire is that Barack Obama will win the election and finally free us from the dark period we have suffered through. I cried when Kerry lost and I couldn't even vote at the time. I was so frustrated by not being able to express my views four years ago. I am so excited to vote for the first time, not only because I am scared of what might happen to our futures if McCain were to be elected, but because I feel in my heart of hearts that Obama is a truly exceptional candidate. Though some criticize him for his lack of experience, I am actually refreshed by his untainted nature, by his charismatic personality, and his ability to believe that rather seemingly impossible ideas can actually be manifested. He is so eloquent and composed. When he debates, his answers are well rounded, thought out and specifically addressed. I get a genuine feeling from Obama that he actually cares about people, and wants to help them. I can only hope that America feels as passionately about him as I do. What I think is really remarkable is that people are not just considering the candidates' party affiliations as the main reason for liking one or the other, but they are really evaluating what each candidate has to offer and how their views might benefit our country. I have talked to so many Republicans who have always voted for their party's candidate, but they are now realizing that McCain is not what is best for our country right now. Please vote but before you do actually know why you are voting and consider thoroughly which candidate can best ensure that our greatest potential will be reached.
